Chalmers IPOET Scholarships 2027

Chalmers University of Technology

Overview

About this opportunity

The Chalmers IPOET Scholarships 2027 offer a 75 percent tuition fee reduction to prospective fee paying international students starting a masters programme at Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden, in autumn 2027. Funded by the Swedish Council for Higher Education, the IPOET award is applied as a tuition fee waiver, rising to an 85 percent reduction in the second year for students who perform well in the first year. No money is paid to recipients, so living costs in Sweden must be funded separately. The scholarship application is separate from the programme application: you must first apply for a Chalmers masters programme through University Admissions, then submit the Chalmers scholarship application using the application number from that programme application. Selection is based on relative academic excellence, including weighted average grade, the stature of the home university, and the priority order of the Chalmers programme choices.

Who should apply?

This may be a fit if the following points describe you. Always use the official criteria as the final check.

  • Be liable to pay tuition fees at Chalmers, which applies to most students from outside the EU, EEA and Switzerland
  • Apply for the first year of an eligible masters programme at Chalmers starting in autumn 2027
  • Submit a masters programme application through University Admissions before the 15 January 2027 programme deadline
  • Hold the University Admissions application number, which is required for the separate scholarship application
  • Demonstrate relative academic excellence, including a strong weighted average grade and a strong home university record
  • Note that the scholarships are for prospective students only and are not open to current Chalmers students
  • Submit the scholarship application before the start of the first academic year, inside the late November 2026 to mid January 2027 window

What the opportunity may offer

  • A 75 percent reduction in tuition fees for a Chalmers masters programme
  • An 85 percent tuition fee reduction in the second year for students who perform well in the first year

  • Scholarship offers valid for two years of study under the conditions in the Scholarship Regulations
  • A single scholarship application route covering the Chalmers administered awards, with IPOET as the government funded scheme

Deadline notes

The official Chalmers scholarships page, updated 15 October 2026, states that the page is not yet updated with the award details for the 2027 admission round, and that the application period for Chalmers administered scholarships for masters programmes runs from late November 2026 to mid January 2027. The scholarship deadline aligns with the programme application deadline, not the deadline for supporting documents. Masters programme applications through University Admissions run from 16 October 2026 to 15 January 2027, with the application fee and supporting documents due by 1 February 2027. The 15 January 2027 listing deadline is therefore the programme deadline that the scholarship window closes against, and applicants must submit the scholarship application inside the late November 2026 to mid January 2027 window.

Utrecht University NL Scholarship 2027

The Utrecht University NL Scholarship 2027 is a partial scholarship for international students from outside the European Economic Area who start an international masters programme at Utrecht University on 1 September 2027. Financed by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science and Dutch research universities and universities of applied sciences, it offers EUR 5,000, EUR 10,000 or EUR 15,000 in the first year of study. Not all programmes participate, so you must check the tuition fees and financial support information on your chosen masters programme page. Selection is based on your academic background as shown in your masters programme application, your motivation explaining the relevance of your time in the Netherlands and at Utrecht University to your future goals, and the quality and feasibility of your financial plan. You must complete a Statement of Financial Resources showing how you will cover the remaining costs for the full nominal duration of the programme, because the scholarship covers only part of the total costs.
