University of Twente Scholarship (UTS) 2027

University of Twente

Overview

About this opportunity

The University of Twente Scholarship (UTS) 2027 is a merit based masters scholarship for excellent students from outside the EU/EEA who want to study in the Netherlands. Worth between EUR 3,000 and EUR 22,000 for one year, it supports students on English taught MSc programmes at the University of Twente in fields from computer science and robotics to sustainable energy and business. Applicants must first secure provisional admission, then submit the separate UTS form before 1 April 2027, with results announced in the first week of May 2027. Because UTS is a contribution towards study costs rather than a full scholarship, applicants should confirm they can cover remaining tuition and living costs in the Netherlands.

Who should apply?

This may be a fit if the following points describe you. Always use the official criteria as the final check.

  • Be an excellent student from a non-EU/EEA country, typically in the top 5 to 10 percent of your graduating class
  • Be provisionally admitted to a qualifying University of Twente masters programme starting in September 2027, and hold a UT student number
  • Meet the English requirement: IELTS Academic 6.5 with speaking 6.0, or TOEFL iBT 90 with speaking 20, unless the programme states otherwise
  • Meet the conditions for a Dutch entry visa and residence permit, and not be eligible for the Dutch statutory tuition fee
  • Not have graduated from a UT undergraduate or graduate programme
  • Not be eligible for a Dutch study loan
  • Note the exclusions: Dutch and current UT students, EU/EEA students, students eligible for the statutory tuition fee, masters programmes at the Faculty of Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation (ITC), and the pre-Master programme are not eligible

What the opportunity may offer

  • UTS recipients from eligible DAC Least Developed and Other Low Income countries may additionally be considered for the Kipaji Scholarship of up to EUR 12,000, by indicating interest in the UTS motivation
