Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship

Stipendium Hungaricum is Hungary's flagship government scholarship for international students, structured differently from most government-funded awards: most applicants apply through an eligible 'sending partner' -- typically their home country's ministry of education -- alongside Hungary's own online application system. Missing that dual structure is the single most common reason strong applicants get filtered out. Tuition is fully covered at all degree levels. Scholars also receive a monthly stipend that scales with degree level: HUF 43,700 for bachelor's and master's students, HUF 140,000 in the first phase of doctoral study, and HUF 180,000 in the second phase, paid across all 12 months. Housing is covered through a free dormitory place or a HUF 40,000 monthly accommodation contribution. The 2026/27 round closed January 15, 2026; the next window (2027/28) is expected to open in November 2026.

What this checker does, and does not do

This checker matches listings against the filters you choose. It does not approve you, and it cannot see requirements that live only on the official page, such as grade cutoffs, age limits or required documents. Listings whose deadline has passed are hidden. Always confirm eligibility on the official source before applying. Every listing links to its official page.

How to use it

Choose your filters, open a match, and read its eligibility section on the listing page. Then apply through the official link. If no listing matches, widen the filters. New verified listings are added regularly, so check back before a deadline you care about.
